Geoff Love – Selected Boards, Start-ups and Volunteer Activities – January 2016

Most Current

  • During 2012, Geoff co-founded Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Canada and helped prepare the first Report Card in the world on Extended Producer Responsibility policies and programs.  Geoff represented EPR Canada at its inaugural Vancouver Press conference in July 2012 to announce that the Province of British Columbia “scored the highest in actions to make brandowners and manufacturers 100% responsible for post consumer product and packaging waste”.  EPR Canada prepared and issued its second EPR report card in September 2013 in Toronto. This time, BC and Quebec were the leading jurisdictions. In 2014, EPR Canada decided to prepare a "progress summary assessment" report only. 2015 was the fourth year of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Canada's report card and the third year of a fully scored report. For the first time, a jurisdiction – British Columbia – received a "top honors" A score. In 2016, EPR Canada will be issuing "occasional papers" on topics of importance to the progress of EPR across Canada. Our fourth – and final – fully scored report card will be completed in 2017 (reflecting progress in 2015 and 2016) and the results of that report card will be released in the Fall of 2017. EPR Canada was formed as a not for profit association by an initial group of 6 experienced EPR practitioners with the mission “to ensure the continued growth and improvement of EPR policies, programs and practices across Canada.” (for more information, please visit www.eprcanada.ca)
